Barbera d’Asti Superiore Fratelli Ponte
This Fratelli Ponte Barbera Superiore D’Asti is a wonderful example of what can be done with the Barbera grape. A perennial staple of the Piedmont region – famous for its fine wines – the Barbera has been typically a simple table wine. Now, the expert winemakers of the region are using their skills to bring out the full potential of this grape. Fratelli Ponte use great care in the growing and selection of the grapes for this wine. It is aged one year in oak barrels.
This is a “superiore” which means the wine is produced using a smaller quantity of grapes per acre, which yields a higher quality wine. This wine also has a half percent more alcohol than the regular Barbera. The wine shows what Barbera can be at its best!
