Primitivo is a plant with black grapes. Its name arises from the plant blooming and fruit ripening earlier than other vines. Its harvest takes place between late August and early September and the plant requires clay and calcareous soil to grow. The wine itself is aged 20% american oak and 80% steel. This gives this Primitivo a soft but structured flavor with a bouquet of spice and eucalyptus undertones. Wonderfully rich and full flavored, this easy-drinking wine has plenty of complexity to go along with the concentrated fruit. Bring a bottle of this along to your next barbecue and you'll go away pleased!
