Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG Cantine Bonacchi
The Vernaccia is a white wine grape with a long history in Tuscany, near the historic village of San Gimignano. Vernaccia di San Gimignano is characteristically dry with crisp acidity and a slightly bitter finish, which makes it an excellent accompaniment to a wide variety of dishes and soft cheeses and with fish or shrimp, and it is a great companion for Japanese foods. “For foods like fondue, brie en croute, raclette or fettuccine alfredo, its crisp acids might just make it a perfect match. A dry, savory white with apple and citrus aromas and a gently nutty, almond character. It has full, broad flavors typical of Vernaccia on the mid palate, leading to a dry, slightly spicy, palate cleansing finish. Serve chilled to accompany hors d’oeuvres, shellfish, white meat and fried vegetables.
